2002

Practical is sexy.

InFormation

To some, the 1968-1976 2002 is the best car to ever come from BMW. It features the well-loved and highly successful 2.0-liter power plant, which offered lots of performance and a surprising amount of efficiency for a car from the period. It was quite fast—110 mph standard—for such a practical design that included full four-seat capacity, a roomy trunk, well-chosen driving stance, and great outward visibility. However, for all of its practicality, it could outdrive many of its “sportier” peers. With the 2002, you feel connected to the road - right from the rubber to the steering wheel. It’s a ride that has many die hard fans for good reason.

This 1976 example is a great starting place for a 2002. While the full history is not completely known, we believe it to be locally owned in Saskatoon for 35 years. A few modifications have be made in the interior - mostly the addition of aftermarket speakers. Mechanically, a new fuel pump has recently been installed and the Webber carburetor balanced. The body is in great condition, with only a few minor areas requiring attention. As is, this 2002 is ready to be enjoyed as a near-stock ride. However, it is also a great candidate for a rebuild and customization.
