P1800
Italian style. Scandinavian substance.
INFormation
The world record for the most miles driven by a private vehicle is a 1966 P1800. The distance? Three million miles. More amazing? All those miles were done on the original engine. These unique two-door coupes were made by Volvo from 1961-1972. Designed by Pelle Petterson while working with the Italian design studio Frua, the P1800 became famous when Roger Moore drove one in the hit television series The Saint. Marketed as a stylish touring car rather than a pure sports car, Volvo found huge success with the blend of style and sensibility.
This 1968 example has had three Saskatchewan owners over the last three plus decades. And has only 57,000 KMS. The car is completely original except for an older repaint in the original colour and an aftermarket stereo has been added using the original radio cut out (the dash was not altered ). The car features all original chrome that is in very good condition. Overall the car is in amazing shape aside from some minor surface rust below the exhaust. The car was recently inspected by a Volvo specialist with 40 years of experience working on P1800’s and runs great.
